Library Books Online in Cook County

I love to read and I appreciate having a great library here in Grand Marais, but unfortunately, I get more than my share of overdue charges and I am not always willing to drive into town to check out a new book or return an old one. Thanks to the Arrowhead Library System and my broadband connection I now have options.

Anyone with a Arrowhead library card and a broadband connection can check out Electronic books (E-books) and Audiobooks from the library. The books can be read on anyone's computer, E-readers such as Kindles and Nooks, even Smart phones and tablets such as the iPad. The Audiobooks can be played on the computer or any mp3 player. A person is able to check out up to 10 items and the loan period is 2 weeks.

The best part for me is that the book expires automatically, I don't have to remember to turn it in. The other part I enjoy is being able to browse the available books at home (or anywhere) online. You can limit the search for a book to a genre such as mysteries or by author or title. It takes about 1 to 2 minutes to download the book to my e-reader or computer once I have made my selection. For example, recently I was 1000 miles across the country on a trip and needed another book to read. No problem, I just got on the web logged into the Arrowhead library system and checked out and downloaded another book within a few minutes, AMAZING. Thank you Arrowhead Libraries.
